Meet the Board
Mona Kharoofa is a senior at Harvard University studying Economics and Global Health and Health Policy. This is her third year involved with HCAP. Mona has worked at Lazard and Société Générale Investment Bank and will join Goldman Sachs after graduation. Outside of HCAP, she enjoys traveling, exploring new cuisines, and reading.
Michael is a senior in Adams House studying Statistics and is interested in pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. This is his third year involved with HCAP. He previously served as the PRMM Co-Chair and traveled in the Taipei and Hong Kong delegations. His interests include photography and videography, basketball, and has recently taken interest in powerlifting.
Chief of Staff
Yashaar is a senior in Mather House studying Neuroscience and Comparative Literature and wants to pursue a career in medicine. He is greatly looking forward to being a part of HCAP for his second year. Last year, he served as a Foreign Liaison and travelled to Tokyo. His interests including film, zebrafish, hiking, reading philosophy and fiction, and swimming.
Zhiye Yang is a junior in Harvard studying Government. She is passionate about international relations and comparative politics. After graduation, she intends to work in policy making and research institutional changes. Previously traveled in Japan during her first HCAP experience, she is excited to meet this year’s amazing delegation.
Yijiang is a sophomore in Quincy House thinking of studying Applied Math with a focus on Economics and CS. This is her second year involved in HCAP, and she was in the Turkey delegation last year. She was previously in the operations committee, but is working in the finance committee this year. Other clubs she is involved in on campus include WiCS, CBE, and HODP, among others.
Public Relations Chair
Eelaaf is a sophomore in Adams House studying computer science. She interned at Leidos as a Data Science and Engineering Intern this past summer. This is her second year involved with HCAP. She previously served as the Istanbul's Foreign Delegations Committee Member. Her interests include playing tennis, eating sushi, and traveling.
Will is a senior in Eliot House, pursuing a joint concentration in Earth and Planetary Sciences and Physics. After a wonderful experience with last year’s Hong Kong delegation, he looks forward to a second year of HCAP, now serving as Social Chair. In addition to travel, some of Will’s favorite activities include playing the cello, hiking, consuming oat milk, jogging, House life, karaoke, and — as of last summer — dragon boat.
Foreign Liaison Chair
Matt is a senior in Eliot House concentrating in Neuroscience with a secondary in Economics. He plans to take a gap year to teach English in Thailand before going to medical school. This is his third year as part of HCAP, previously visiting both Singapore and Thailand. His personal interests include playing any type of sport, watching Netflix, and playing videogames.
David Chen is a sophomore in Kirkland House studying Computer Science and Music. This is his second year involved with HCAP. Previously, we was on the finance committee and went to Taipei, Taiwan. Other organizations he's involved with includes the Crimson, WHRB, and CS50 staff. His enjoys running, rowing, Overwatch, and music.
Sophia is a senior in Kirkland House concentrating in Economics with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. She is excited for her second year of HCAP. Sophia worked at BCG last summer and will be returning after graduation. Outside of HCAP, Sophia is passionate about eating amazing food, performing the harp, and playing golf.
